Over-consumption, unsustainable use draining world’s water at ‘vampiric’ rate: UN

New York – Water is being drained globally at a “vampiric” rate by over-consumption and unsustainable use, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said this week at the UN conference on water security. The United Nations has set a 17-point list of necessary actions to achieve sustainable development, which includes access to clean drinking water and sanitation. The UN suggests about 25 per cent of the world still relies on unsafe drinking water while about half the world is without basic sanitation. Global News report | READ MORE
